Ofsted inspectors praise ‘vibrant and welcoming’ JMAT school

Cedars Park Primary School has been praised by Ofsted inspectors, who have labelled it a “vibrant and welcoming” place to learn.

Cedars Park Primary School has been rated “Good” by inspectors following a visit in June.

Inspectors praised pupils for following the school motto “no limit to learning” and were impressed by the way they pay close attention and work hard in lessons.

They also commended the children’s behaviour and attitude – particularly around inclusivity – while highlighting a recent award for pupils’ contribution to the local poppy appeal.

Headteacher Aisha Suhail said: “All of us at Cedars Park are absolutely delighted with Ofsted’s findings.

“We have worked hard to build a close-knit school community that inspires us all to strive for excellence every day.

“I am incredibly proud of all our staff and pupils for making Cedars Park such an inclusive, fun and engaging place to learn.”

Staff at the school were praised for the additional support they provide to pupils to help them achieve well in class – particularly through their shared passion for reading.

The report says pupils benefit from positive relationships between them and school staff, contributing to them feeling safe and trusting adults to help them if needed. There was also praise for the “open” working between school leaders and the Trust.

Inspectors added that the school’s early years curriculum is “well designed” and highlighted the school’s SEND provisions.

School trips were also commended for being engaging and broadening pupils’ experiences.

Karen Grimes, JMAT CEO, added: “Aisha and her team have worked incredibly hard to make Cedars Park a great place for children to learn.

“We are very pleased to see such widespread praise from Ofsted, with all five areas being rated ‘Good’.

“We have no doubt that the school and its pupils will continue to excel.”
